Grants&Incentives

Since Poland’s accession to the European Union, entrepreneurs have gained increased opportunities for receiving grants from public funds. From 2007–2013 entrepreneurs and institutions operating in Poland can receive up to EUR 80 billion from EU Structural Funds and domestic financial resources. Entrepreneurs may use other sources of financial support at the national level (i.e. tax exemptions in Special Economic Zones, grants from Supporting Programs, exemptions from real estate tax) as well as at the foreign level, (i.e. grants from the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism or the Seventh Framework Program for research and technological development).
KPMG in Poland has created a Grants&Incentives Team dedicated to providing services for entities interested in winning public financial support for their activities. Our professionals assist in the effective use of available financing sources for the purposes connected with, among others, planned investment, creating new workplaces, development and research projects, ecological activities or training for employees. Our team includes specialists in tax, finance and legislation in order to help our clients choose, win and apply the most appropriate publicly available financial funds. The proper preparation of applications, fulfillment of numerous formal requirements as well as negotiations with public authorities is all critical to obtaining grants and incentives.

KPMG in Poland has been assisting entrepreneurs in securing public support for several years. Notably, we have advised entities on commencing business activities in Special Economic Zones. Our team has also supported entrepreneurs in preparing the applications and documentation required in the process of applying for grants from pre-accession resources and from the EU Structural Funds for financing investment and research and development projects. In addition, we have taken part in numerous projects which required negotiation with authorities (i.e. the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Economy and local authorities) with the aim of gaining support from public means for companies operating in Poland.

Our involvement in working for the beneficiaries of public support and with the state authorities in the disbursement of public aid has enabled us to cultivate comprehensive know-how and experience towards winning grants and incentives as well as other mechanisms of public aid for our clients.
